About Louisville Gypsy Jazz
Louisville Gypsy Jazz is a musical collective, created to promote the music of Django Reinhardt & Stéphane Grappelli. We do this through local “Events” in the Louisville area, consisting of jam sessions and/or musical sets by breakout groups from within the collective. We are pleased to be in our second decade!

Our “Events”“Events” are typically scheduled monthly, where you can expect to hear:
“Events” usually consist of two sets: the first set features a small group of some of our top players- followed by a break- then a larger group where others are invited to join in an open jam. OUR PLAYERSLouisville Gypsy Jazz has players with a broad range of musical backgrounds and experience- but what everyone has in common is their love for this style of music. Instrumentalists and vocalists range from accomplished professionals, to those who are new to learning the style… from music instructors to those who those who have taught themselves to “play by ear”. We enjoy the participation of a broad range of musical instruments, often not normally associated with Gypsy Jazz.
This diversity makes Louisville Gypsy Jazz a unique experience- It is a supportive, encouraging group that is committed to help one another grow musically. |
